Do you have a passion for the use of technology in Library and Resources Centres?

RSC South West currently has a vacancy for an E-learning Advisor with a specific focus on leading support for Learning Resources in the Learning and Skills sector.

You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on the development and implementation of e-learning to a variety of learning providers across the RSC South West region.

Working with individuals up to Principal/Director level, you will be part of a dedicated team, delivering a high standard of support to the post 16 sector.  Your role will be stimulating and challenging, involving regular partnership and liaison work with organisations such as JISC, LSIS and CoFHE. You will ideally have experience of developing and implementing e-learning strategies and will have significant work experience in post 16 provision, with experience in a Library/Resources role.

You must have a sound knowledge of the use of information and learning technologies within an education environment, including the use of Virtual Learning Environments, ePortfolios and Web 2.0 tools. The role demands that you are approachable, with excellent communication skills and above all, a real team player. The role also involves regular travel across the South West region and occasional UK travel.

The JISC Regional Support Centre South West is a JISC funded agency that works with a range of partners to support the regional development of Information and Learning Technologies (ILT) and e-Learning in the further, higher, specialist colleges, Adult and Community Learning and Work Based Learning sectors. 

The RSC SW is based at the University of Plymouth and staff are employed by the University. This position is based at the Exeter office.  Selection will be based on individual merit. Interviews will take place on 1 September 2010 at the University of Plymouth. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2011.
